Group objective (s): To develop research in the areas of Soil Science through geotechnologies, as well as its relationship with land use planning. Within this aspect, the group presents itself in the sense of evaluating, testing and developing methodologies, through geotechnologies, which help in the knowledge of the soil.

The group aims to study geotechnologies not only as a tool, but as a science, and its interrelation with soils. In the soil aspect, it interacts in the most different areas such as fertility, chemistry, mapping, erosion, conservation, mineralogy, physics and biology. Thus, presenting a multi / inter-disciplinary aspect,
working together with professionals from different areas and institutions. It aims to establish itself at the forefront of the foundations of pedology studied by geotechnologies.

Practice Areas: Pedology, soil mapping and survey, land use planning, chemometrics, precision agriculture, remote sensing and geoprocessing.
